Tortech Transformers Powering the Sydney Light Rail Project

On the 26th June, the Sydney Light Rail project reached a new milestone by testing the first tram to travel along George Street, a feat that has not been achieved in over 60 years.

Tortech is proud to have helped be a part of this major Transport project, where we have supplied our Control & Safety transformers at every intersection for the trams between Circular Quay to Randwick.

Our transformers for this project have been put through NATA testing to ensure they meet the high quality standards set by Transport NSW. Tortech values the opportunity to work closely with Transport NSW, and hope to continue this work on current and upcoming projects.
