Team visit to UNSW Impulse Testing Lab
Visit to UNSW by Tortech Engineers to discuss with UNSW team new Impulse testing techniques for voltage transformers. Thank-you to Professor Toan and lab technician Liu for this opportunity.
On our visit we tested a 11kV to 240v single Phase voltage transformer. Impulse tested at 120kV peak.
IMPULSE TESTING on High Voltage Single Phase Voltage Transformer
An impulse test is only of use if the detection method is sensitive enough to detect any breakdown inside the voltage transformer. With voltage transformers, there is a problem of detecting the breakdown due to lack of sensitivity.
