Quality standards

 

1. High Surge Power 

Surge power rating is 3x rated load power for a period of 20sec minimum. This  rating is very important and suitable for motor application ie starting large motors. Eg a 3000wat transformer inverter can deliver 9000watt for 20sec. A electronic inverter rated at continuous 3000watt will deliver 6000watt for less than 0.5secs. 

Transformer based inverter can absorb a larger output power rating for a longer time where as electronic inverters often shut down often due to over current or over temperature

 

2. Robust design

The inverter is designed in a robust housing. The unit is highly reliable as there are no free standing components on PCB boards that could become loose due to vibration (which often happens with electrical inverters in vehicles).

 

3. Energy efficient - low idle current:

This inverter when operated in power saving mode will sense the load  condition every 10-15sec. If the load is not present then the input DC current  to the inverter is kept very low.  If the inverter is not in power savings mode the idle current is still low  due to new transformer core loss design characteristics. These two conditions will preserve the battery  charge and life as the inverter is not drawing large idle power from the battery. Read more


4. Generator start feature - automatically starts generator when the battery voltage reaches low levels. This feature increases the lifetime of the battery.  Read more


5. Low THD - Total harmonic distortion is an important factor. A low THD allows for more power from the inverter. Read more


6. Isolation - isolation between the input DC side of the inverter & the output AC side of the inverter is achieved as the 50Hz transformer provides the voltage isolation.


7. Approvals & Safety Compliance:  All Tortech TXF-INV range of inverters are CE approved and fully tested and made to AS/NZS 60950, EN 60950 and IFC 60950-1999 standards. All units are C-tick approved for EMC interference. See our safety test reports

      tick.gif Testing - All inverters are 100% tested on load battery at Tortech in Sydney.

           This  guarantees all the inverter characteristics and charger performance.

      tick.gif Our transformer based inverter has a circuit breaker on the DC and AC side for protection. 

           This provides excellent short circuit protection under all conditions.

     tick.gif These inverter have a 3 stage battery charger incorporated into the inverter.  

           So when the 240v AC is available on the AC side you are able to charge the battery which is connected on the DC side.  (something an electronic inverter can not do)

Note: For units 3000w and below Australian 240v output sockets are provided as well as a hard wiring option.

 

For units 3000w and greater the output must be hard wired . If you require the 240 outlets on these units you will need to request in the comments field during checkout for 240v 10amp powerboard to be wired to your unit. We do this as the unit is both a charger and an inverter. That is it can charge  the DC  battery by supplying AC power from the 240v side. 'Also it can supply power from the  DC battery to supply 240v AC sinewave output.
