Other General Step Up and Step Down Transformers -        NEW  !!

A "Step up" Transformer is Required if you want to run an Australian appliance designed for 240 Volts on Overseas Power at 110V or any other Voltage.

A "Step Down" Transformer is Required if you want to run an Imported appliance designed for 220 Volts Here in Australia.

There are many different possibilities that determines which unit you will need:

Most Common Examples Are: (with a Guide to the relavant  Page)

1. Taking an Australian Product Overseas to USA or Similar - StepUp Page   -  110/240V

Most of North/Central and some of South America is 110V,  Japan is mostly 100V.

2.  Using an Imported 200-220V Product Here in Australia - StepDown page  -  240V/220V

Most European and  Asian countries are 220 - 230V

3.   A 3 Phase Machine Imported to Australia - 3 Phase  page  -  415/380V  or  415/200-208V

4.   Products requiring Low Voltage (Lighting etc) - Low Voltage Stepdowns page  - 12/24/32V

Select which type of unit you will need and go to the Appropriate Page Here. (See the Links Below or the menu on the Left)

We build converters to Order, for other Countries and Voltages.  Please Enquire Direct.

Simply plug the transformer into the Power socket & your device into the AUST power outlet & you're ready to go!

To Help determine which Transformer you will need, please check these questions first:

1. What is the total watts used by the appliances to be connected to the Transformer?

Select from our range below, based on how many watts your device uses

Choose the unit with matching power rating or the next one up.

Most appliances have a rating label on them.

E.g: If your device uses 380 Watts you will need a 500 watt transformer.

2. If a timing device is included the speed of the device may change if the Frequency changes, eg. 50Hz to 60Hz. The Transformer cannot change Frequency. In most cases this will not be a problem. This may occur with Fans and Motors.

3. Do you know the Amps of your device? - if so you can calculate the watts required:

Calculated as Watts = Amps x Volts (eg 2.5 Amps x 240 Volts = 600 watts)

4.
Do you wish to use multiple appliances from one Transformer?

Check the  total watts of all devices. This must be less than the VA rating of the unit & use a Powerboard (Multi Outlet powerstrip).

Not sure which Unit you will need? Then  please contact us with your answers to above questions & we will advise the you the unit required.
