Important warning on stepdown transformer ratings: All stepdown transformers offered by Tortech or Converter shop are rated at a continuous rating. In other words the transformers are designed to run at full rating as designated for a 24 hour continuously. We do not deceive the customer by offering a short time rated rating: ie 2000w for 1 hour and 1400w continuous. This is false advertising and we will no do this. All units are thermally tested to comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS61558. That is they are thermally rated at full rating at +6% mains ie 254v input at 50Hz. So when we rate a transformer at 2000 watt it is this rating that we guarantee as a continuous duty rating. In addition all Tortech Step Down Transformers come with A safety Fuse and thermal cut out.
